Dear St. Paul Families and Friends:
Happy November. This is the month when we remember in our prayers those that are our special angels in heaven who have departed before us. It is a time to give thanks for the many gifts that God has bestowed on each of us. I feel so fortunate to have a supportive staff and families here at St. Paul. I couldn’t ask for a kinder and more generous community to be working with day after day. You are in my prayers of thanksgiving each day.
During this month we have many special events. The first is our Veteran’s Day celebration which will be held on Monday, November 12th. This is a tradition at St. Paul, spearheaded by Mrs. Clodius and her seventh-grade students. We invite our Veterans to come and celebrate with us. The assembly begins at 8:00 am. in the parish center. Our band will perform with a solo of Taps from Nolan Chickering. Our seventh grade will give us a bit of history of this day, Father Callahan will speak, and we will present our gifts to the 4000 National Guard to be included in their Christmas care packages for the soldiers overseas. St. Ann’s Sodality will also be presenting a Quilt of Valor to one lucky veteran. Afterwards, we will have a short social in the cafeteria for our guests. Please remember to invite any veterans you may know so that we can honor them at St. Paul. Be reminded that our gifts for the care packages are due no later than this Friday, November 9th.
Student Council will be sponsoring our “Canned Food Drive” for St. Vincent DePaul later in the month. Each year at the all school Mass before Thanksgiving our students present our gifts of food. There will be more information on this as we come closer to the event.
• Mark your calendars: Thanksgiving Break begins on Wednesday, November 21st at NOON and we will be returning to school the following Monday, November 26th. I love that Thanksgiving falls a little earlier than normal this year!
• On Thanksgiving weekend, once again the students will be at Barnes and Noble. Our choir will be singing with Mr. D. and Mrs. Borgmann, and children will be reading and doing crafts with the little ones. This is always a great way for St. Paul to show their support for businesses in the community. Early Christmas shopping can also be accomplished.
• The first trimester ends this Thursday, November 8th. All grade books will be closed at 3:00 pm for the staff to begin working on report cards. If you are planning on making a copy of grade book, please do so before 3:00 on Thursday.
• First trimester conferences will be held on Thursday, November 29th after Thanksgiving break. We will have a NOON dismissal with conferences beginning at 12:30 pm. There will not be school on Friday, November 30th.
This week you will be receiving a link to sign up for parent teacher conferences. You will be able to see the conference schedule and sign up for a time that is convenient for you. All conferences will be held in the teacher’s classrooms. This includes Middle School, so sign up early before the slots are filled. Be on the look-out for this link. My hopes are that it will be up and running by the end of the day on Monday.
That’s the news from St. Paul. Until next week,
With blessings from my heart,
HATS OFF TO THE FOLLOWING:

Our Halloween Parties were great! We are so lucky to have such an active PTO organization to support our students and families.
Thank you, parents and PTO, for our gifts of Small Classroom grants. We appreciate all your hard work and effort in making this happen.
