“The Heart of St. Paul … Growing Together in Faith, Knowledge, and Virtue”
Dear St. Paul Parents and Friends:
Did you remember to push your clock forward? Boy, I bet we are going to have some sleepy students on Monday!!! Hope everyone is keeping warm this weekend. Isn’t St. Louis weather crazy??? Hopefully the cold snap will be over before Spring Break next week.
In case you missed it, the 8th grade play once again was FABULOUS!!! This project was a perfect example of what happens when parents and teachers work together with students for a common goal. As Mr. D stated on Friday evening, the parents shared the workload on this project and the outcome showed on the excited faces of every eighth-grade student as they performed.
This week a link was sent to you with a survey about the possibility of having a Summer School program at St. Paul. In order to do this, we must have the teachers and student enrollment in each of the classes AND the program must support itself. We have the teachers and hopefully we will have the support from our families. The link will close on Friday and I will take some time over Spring Break and compile the information and see where we are. The decision will be made based on the results of our survey. The link was also posted in our weekly newsletter this Friday.
I am hoping to begin the interview process for teachers by the end of this week and then continue after spring break. We have some very interesting candidates and I am excited to meet them. The interview committee will consist of a minimum of two teachers, the school board and or the PTO president and myself. I prefer to hold this type of interview by beginning with a panel and then if possible I like to visit them at their current schools and see them in action. I will keep everyone posted as our hiring process moves forward.
I am hoping that now that it is spring, I can get out at arrival time both out front and up top. If parents want to meet with myself and a classroom teacher the best time to meet is first thing in the morning. That is normally what stops me from getting outside or if a teacher is running late and I am covering a classroom. Now that conferences are over, my hopes are that I will be more free to get out in the mornings and see the sunshine.
In closing, I hope that everyone has a restful and safe Spring Break. Spring is right around the corner and with that comes the final push to the end of the school year. Enjoy your time with the family and I will see everyone back at school on Monday, March 27th,
With blessings from my heart,
HATS OFF TO:
~~~Our 8th Grade Class – Thank you for a FABULOUS performance on Friday evening. Your courage and hard work paid off. It was such fun to see all of you enjoying your performance. What a night!!! You created a wonderful memory for everyone.
~~~Mr. D, Mrs. Kidd, and Mrs. Coyle – thank you for the time and hard work with the students. I know how much you enjoy putting together performances with the students.
~~~The 8th Grade Moms – There are so many moms that helped with the 8th grade play production that I am afraid that I might miss one if I list names. These moms gave the time and effort to rehearse lines, dance numbers, create programs, create and fill ticket orders and everything else that goes with the production of a play. This collaboration is how a wonderfully entertaining evening was created. Thank you.
~~~Grandma Schultes – Grandma was the costume maker and designer and made this play come to life. Thank you for the many hours of service to our students. You helped create this memory that they will forever share.THIS WEEK AT A GLANCE:
