Prayer for Hope

Dear St. Paul Parents and Friends,

During the month of March, our school will be concentrating on the virtue of HOPE. In collaboration with our VBRD committee, the school community is beginning to take a virtue a month to study and create a higher level of understanding of how we can practice this virtue in our lives.

We have been asked many times what parents can do to help reinforce VBRD at home. As part of the VBRD committee, Carrie Lorentz and Kathy Ray have created a monthly newsletter for families that includes ideas of what we can do at home to reinforce the virtues outside of school. We also have a VBRD bulletin board in the Parish Center hallway that displays our newsletter of the month and virtue of the month. It is directly across from our Wall of Virtue. Be on the lookout for your newsletter this week. It should be in your child’s take-home folder. If it does not make it home, there will be a link to the monthly newsletter on our webpage.

I would like to begin a parent/coffee book study group. This is something I have wanted to do since last September. Our study will take place on Wednesday mornings after the 8:00 a.m. Mass each week. We will be reading the book, The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon. (The teachers read this book over the summer. I have 12 copies that I can loan during our book study.) This book study will be a useful tool in helping our community build a positive school culture where we become challenged to perform as a school at our highest potential. The group will be limited to 12 people per study. I think the study will last for approximately four weeks. If you are interested in joining our group, please email me through Fast Direct. The first twelve emails that I receive will be the members of our first group. I also will keep a waiting list for the next book study group. Depending on the interest of our parents, we will go another round. It will be a great avenue for us to get to know each other as we begin to build a positive school culture together.

Thank you for all of the congrats messages on the birth of our new granddaughter. We feel so fortunate to now have 6 healthy grandchildren. Until next week …

With blessings from my heart,
Fran
