“The Heart of St. Paul … Growing Together in Faith, Knowledge, and Virtue”
Prayer for Catholic Schools
O Christ, our Teacher,
You invite Your faithful people to make disciples in Your name
and to announce good news to the poor.
We thank You for the gift of Catholic schools, where
The message of Your life, death, and resurrection is proclaimed,
Christian community is experienced,
Service to our brothers and sisters is modeled,
And worship of You is cultivated.
Increase our zeal for ensuring that all children and families
can benefit from a high quality Catholic education,
and that Catholic schools grow in their ability
to nurture the souls of our nation.
We ask this through the intercession of Our Lady, Mother of Catholic Schools. Amen.
Dear St. Paul Parents and Friends,
HAPPY CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK 2016!!!! The theme for this week is Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service.
Our week began with 10:00 Mass on Sunday, January 31, followed by our Open House. The support for Open House was outstanding!!! This day was brought about through the collaboration of the Marketing Committee, School Board, PTO, Mother’s Club, and many Parent Volunteers. The day was highlighted with the School Board and Parent Volunteers conducting tours for our new families, and parents manning the welcome desk and cookie table. Students were visible in our Computer Lab, Music classroom, Art classroom, and PE classroom demonstrating activities that are common place to our school. Teachers were also present in all classrooms to field questions.
Faith – On Monday we are celebrating our Faith and acknowledging our volunteers at 8:00 a.m. Mass. This will be hosted by Mrs. Coyle’s 8th grade class. There will be a special blessing given by Father Benz for all of our school volunteers. Please come by and celebrate our Faith with our students. The staff and I have a few more surprises up our sleeves for today, so talk to your children when they come home from school.
Tuesday is our Sports Day, where the students may wear their favorite sports team shirts/sweatshirts over or under their school uniforms. We will have an all-school assembly with a field hockey game of the students VS. the staff. It should be fun for all and interesting to watch our staff play field hockey, something I have never played!!!
Faith and Knowledge – Wednesday our Middle School Classes will be venturing to Chaminade for an all-day retreat for Middle Schoolers in our Archdiocese. Our Pre-K-5th grade students will be celebrating Reading with a special Pajama Day! Students may wear pajamas to school day along with our staff! So come to school dressed down in your jammies!
Thursday is about our Students. We would not be a school without our hard working students!! Each teacher has a special day mapped out for their homeroom classes. At the end of the day, we will be celebrating our School Unity with our Field Day teams and some fun relays together in the Parish Center. This is also a Dress-Down Day and a NO HOMEWORK DAY
Friday our PTO will celebrate our wonderful staff with a beautiful luncheon. It is Crazy Sock Day, so add those crazy socks to your uniform. We also will honor our Sock Service Project with a “Sock Hop” in the Parish Center. Parents are invited to participate so put on your dancing shoes and come and join the fun. We will close our school week with a prayer service and blessing of our parents thanking them for the many sacrifices that they have made to insure our Catholic Education.
The week ends on Saturday with a Family Movie Night sponsored by the Marketing Committee in the Church Basement. Popcorn and water will be available. We will be watching Minions.
In between all of the fun activities there will be learning in the classrooms. As we scheduled the events of each day we were considerate of schedules so that the children will not be missing the same subject each day.
It’s going to be a fun week for all. It has already had a beautiful start!!! Please feel free to join us for any of the activities for the week. Our doors are always open. Until next week,
With blessings from my heart,
HATS OFF TO:
